Goldie Lookin’ Cherub - Santa Edition

Christmas is about being home and together with your loved ones. This year has definitely been a lot of the former and less of the latter.

We were fed up with the same old plastic trees and mass produced tinsel so decided to make something more personal and homely. We wanted to make something that was designed, built, painted in the ‘Port.

RISE decided to spread the love by collaborating with new local creative firm Double Giant on our latest piece ‘Goldie Lookin’ Cherub (Santa Edition)’

After coming up with the design we contacted Double Giant, made up of local boys Josh Cranton and Rhys D.W. , (creators of the Chartist comic book Newport Rising) to produce the goods.

Using cutting edge 3D printing techniques they did a great job on bringing the idea to life, producing a sculpture that is now on Newport bridge to spread the love this Christmas.

We have also made smaller versions for your own home and have put a limited amount of small Goldie Lookin’ Cherubs (Santa edition) on the Tree, near Newport Market/HBSC/Natwest for you to pickup. Please only take one and leave some for others to collect.

If you are unfortunate not to get one, don’t worry! Goldie Lookin’ Cherubs are available now in very limited small batches (Due to the time required to make) on the RISE store.

Even better when you buy any goods from the RISE store this December 5% of the profits go to local charity FEED Newport.

All other RISE art prints are available on the store, but not for much longer as we will be setting fire to them on 31st December 2020 to make way for new art. Get them while you still can.

It’s important that we continue to work together. We are looking to continue collaborating with artists and  projects, big and small in the coming year.
